On Monday night (10th April 2023), Punjabi singer R Sukhraj aka Raj Singh, died in a car accident. He was traveling with four friends after a night out at a club in Chandigarh when their SUV collided with an electricity pole and overturned near Sector 87. The 27-year-old singer was pronounced dead at the scene.
Raj Singh, a budding Punjabi singer was with his friends Himanshu Sahni, Parduman Singh Shekhawat, Raghav, and Yogesh Khichar at Chandigarh Club before the accident occurred. Himanshu, driving the Toyota Fortuner, lost control of the vehicle on their way back to Bhagomajra, Mohali. The car hit an electricity pole and overturned, leaving the friends injured.
Raj was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital, while the others are still being treated. The police have booked Sahni for causing death due to rash and negligent driving, and he will undergo a medical examination to determine if he was driving under the influence of alcohol.
R Sukhraj was a young musician who had already released 17 singles. Despite his age, he was known for his hardworking, passionate, and dedicated nature toward music. His friends described him as someone who was friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand. Unfortunately, many of his music projects remained unreleased, leaving behind a legacy of unfulfilled potential.
